It is generally recommended that sexual intercourse is avoided in the first 4 to 6 weeks following vaginal or cesarean delivery. However, it is important to speak with your gyno before resuming sex.

Most often, especially in cases of cesarean delivery, it is recommended to wait until your 6-week postpartum visit for approval from your gyno to resume sexual activity.
