Wueh! Let’s be honest for a minute.

The issue of fertility is a very sensitive one that for some reason society has decided to be tactless about. People aren’t shy to peer into your eyes, pat your tummy and ask about a baby. Sometimes, you want to wait before you start a family and sometimes, you might suspect you have a fertility issue that you would rather handle privately. If you suspect that’s the case, worry not, there are numerous tests that can be conducted to help you figure that out, and here are four.

1. Ovulation

We keep telling y’all to track your cycle and this is why. When you are trying for a baby, the first thing your doctor will check is if you are ovulating normally through various methods. The doctor will ask you to monitor things like your body temperature  because that can indicate the time of Ovulation

3. Hormone blood test

This is a very extensive and intense process and can only be done at a lab. The tests are to check the functioning of various hormones in the body that are involved in the female reproductive cycle. They will test hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, luteinizing hormone, testosterone, follicle stimulating hormone and prolactin.

4. Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)

It might sound strange and long, but it is a test necessary for any woman who has been really trying to have a baby for a while and all the other tests are inconclusive. This is an X-ray of the uterus and fallopian tubes to check for blockages and abnormalities. The test is done by injecting a dye into the fallopian tubes, which will highlight any blockages.
