Jamaican female dancehall artist Ce’Cile is in town!
Dancehall artists looove coming to Kenya and Ce’Cile is one of those who have graced us with their presence yet again. She was here last back in 2011 when she dropped that unforgettable remix with Wyre, ‘She Say Dat’ and she will be performing tonight at Carnivore.
Before stopping over in Nairobi, Ce’Cile was in Dubai and we could not help but notice popular reggae DJ Kriss Darlin by her side, giving us some serious FOMO as they visited different clubs in the Arab state. She posted this powerful message on her Instagram a few days ago and we thought our Zumi audience could use some advice from her.
“I’m realizing the morals and rules and laws must be enforced. Half the time we care less cause we don’t think twice about it. I’m seeing here how breaking rules makes you look uncool as opposed to breaking laws sometimes look cool in some places. For simple things like driving above speed limit, or serious things like grabbing a girls ass.”
“Although covering up your body is a choice and in no way necessarily means you are worth less respect.. I kinda like the idea of covering up your body. It feels nice. And me feel like it’s ok to have a man that wants that. Social media kinda make it seems that all men want is to see everything…but when you travel you see the world through different eyes.”
This is my 2nd time in Dubai. I was the 1st female dancehall artist to perform here.. that was in 2012. So it’s not a 2017 revelation just so you know. And tomorrow I may post a pic with my titties showing. But It kinda cool ina dem long frock yah. I don’t think any woman should be forced to do anything they don’t want to do or wear what they don’t want to wear. But sometimes a little push don’t hurt. Worst if you have a hot man a go home to. #Dubai #UAE”
Now, as you pick out your outfit for her concert, or any other plan you may have for your weekend, think about what she said.
