We’ve all been at that point in time where we couldn’t imagine ourselves as parents, or at least were veeery far from making that kind of commitment.
Now you’re a mum, or you want to be a mum and you remember all those hilarious things you said about parenthood because you didn’t know better.
1.Why would you want to do that to yourself?
Referring to getting kids. Having someone who would depend on you for the next 18 years of their lives just seemed so strange.
2. I’m definitely going to tie my tubes
This would save you the hustle of always being on contraceptives and all the horrible side effects that come with it (though of course this has always been said as a joke, who would want to actually do this?).
3. I am so getting an epidural
The thought of childbirth scares everyone, and you wonder why people go through all the pain without getting an epidural. Chances are you’ll go or have gone all the way natural.
4. I will get straight to exercising to get my body back.
If you have not had a baby, you do not know exhausted you will fell for, say, the rest of your life? Hitting the gym right afterwards is not as easy as you may think.
5. When I’m pregnant, I’m going to be super duper healthy.
Oh no, the craving will come and they will be brutal. Screw the veggies and organic stuff, sometimes you just want ‘kuku chafu’ to curb your cravings and trust me, you will do whatever it takes to get it.
6. After 6 months. I’m done breastfeeding my baby
Because you’re not going to have a big ass baby hanging onto your boob, right? Wrong. You might be breastfeeding your baby waaay after you hit the 6-month mark.
7. Gosh, who is raising these kids?
You say this with full judgment to the parents when you see a child misbehaving in public and you question their parenting skills. Little did you know being a parent isn’t as easy as it seems.
8. My children will listen to me
You were so sure about this one before you had kids and now you’re thinking WTH. As much as you may discipline your children, sometimes they will still scream, yell, disrespect you and drive you crazy. Oh, the joys of parenthood.
Isn’t this hilarious? You get those kids and the next thing you forget about all these rules , shame right?
