Sadly, infants and newborns aren’t the best sleepers with the waking up to eat and everything. This is why they’re so cranky and difficult to put back to sleep. When baby is cranky, so is mummy. And that makes everything and everyone on edge. It can be so frustrating and exhausting. Whoever came up with the phrase ” sleeping like a baby” must’ve been high on something. Here are tips to make your little one nap for longer this time.
1. Stop the night time feeding
No. You’re not starving your baby. Train your baby to not wake up every time for food. The more they realize that they ain’t getting any more milk, they’ll go back to sleep. This means you’ll also get some sleep as well. Just reduce the amount of milk you give your child.
2. Give your baby a massage
This soothes your baby and transcends him/ her into a world of comfort and calmness. It also improves digestion , strengthens your bond and aids development and growth. All this, will out your baby to sleep nice and sound. For a longer period too!
3. Keep days bright, and nights dark
Newborns aren’t born knowing the difference between day and night. So, it’s your job to teach them. Ensure that they are up during the day and asleep at night. Train them to adapt and keep them busy and up during the day, so that as the day ends, they’re exhausted.
4. Don’t underestimate the power of milk
Mill matters. Milk is the drink for babies. If your baby is fussy in the middle of the night, this could mean that they’re not getting enough during the day. Take notes on how many ounces of milk your baby takes, that way you’ll be able to monitor their sleep pattern.
Don’t worry love. With these tricks, your newborn is bound to sleep longer and better. I bet you could use so proper sleep too huh? You’re gonna get it this time! You’re welcome
