We are happy when other women make great accomplishments.
Nelly Tuikong, Founder & Director of Pauline Cosmetics, has had an amazing year, with her been named one of the Top 40 Under 40 women in Kenya by Business Daily. She rescently won the Women In Business Award in the category, Youth Entrepreneur of the Year. How amazing is this? It is every entrepreneurs dream to create a business that is not only profitable but also has a social impact.
Pauline Cosmetics needs no introduction;it is a Kenyan owned makeup brand that designs and develops makeup products for the African woman, with colors for our color! Pauline Cosmetics has quickly risen to be a household beauty brand in Kenya, as well as an industry leader, competing neck to neck with international brands.
This is what Nelly Tuikong had to say about her outstanding accomplishments:
“My dream is to build East Africa’s top makeup brand. Pauline Cosmetics came to me as an idea after having a hard time getting makeup for myself. For the longest time we, as women of color, have been overlooked when it comes to beauty. I remember sampling products from a brand and out of about 14 liquid foundations; there were only 2 shades for dark skin people. That is 2 shades for an entire continent!!! My focus in 2018 will be to create the widest range of color cosmetics in Africa.”
