Closures are installed in the area of the head that closes off the style, and are of two types: silk base closures and lace closures; a silk closure is made of silk and mimics a natural scalp while a lace closure is made with swiss lace and appears flatter than a silk closure.

A full lace wig has a base that is completely made of lace. This base for the wig allows for free parting of the hair so that you can wear it in any style and be able to see the scalp even when the hair is parted.

A lace front wig has a sheer lace in the front that are cut off just before the wig is installed.  The base of the lace front wig is not made of lace, like the full lace wig, but instead, it is made of a thicker material. It is put with glue or tape, which can damage your hairline if not put correctly, so you should go to someone who really knows what they’re doing. This wig type will not allow you to part it down the center of the unit or pull it all up into a bun, the way you could with a full lace wig.  However, it is less expensive than a full lace wig.
